OUR WILD HAND FAMILY
This is us. Together we are caregivers, crocheters, women, teachers, tutors, queer and proud, friends, veterans, knitters, explorers, weavers, spinners, all things fiber, recovering nice white girls, dyers, grandmas, moms, wives, survivors, lovers, students, perpetually on a learning curve, sewers, thoughtful, and embracing the creative peace within.
ABOUT WILD HAND
Nestled in Philadelphia's oh-so-magical Mt. Airy village, Wild Hand is a space where folks of all ages and skills can find high quality, thoughtfully sourced supplies and workshops for their fiber projects.
We believe in daydreaming, tinkering, and taking time to make something with your hands. We carefully select supplies that consider the people, animals, and land that it took to make them. Our community explores, plans, learns, and creates in different ways and we make space that celebrates these differences. We love a learning curve and hope you'll join us on ours.
Wild Hand was created by Liz Sytsma and infused with the empathy and joy she has found along the way. Co-creator and past Director of CultureWorks Greater Philadelphia and lifelong fiber tinkerer, she wanted to create a space that sparks intellectual curiosity and makes you feel at home. Liz lives a few blocks from the shop with Chris, Faye, Joni, Sabon, and Mavis (her mostly female human and animal family).
