Wheel Spinning Basics
Learn how to spin yarn on your spinning wheel (or our shop wheels if you don't have your own!).COST:
$75.00SCHEDULE:
Saturday 9/21 | 9:00AM-11:00AM
Learn about your spinning wheel (or our shop wheels if you don't have your own!), its parts, and their functions. During this workshop, you will learn how to spin your own yarn, as well as how to care for and use your wheel. Students do not need to have a wheel to participate - this is a great way to start to explore if spinning yarn on a wheel is right for you through watching demonstrations and testing out your skills on the shop wheels; which will be shared among the student group (there will be sometimes that you're on the wheel and sometimes that you're watching and helping!).
Keira will be joining us at the shop all-day-long for a pop-up (and an evening Fiber Color Blending workshop!) - feel free to stay after class and shop the pop-up or join us in the evening for some color blending fun.
Skills + Materials
This is a beginner workshop and no previous experience is needed to participate. If you do have a spinning wheel or access to one, you can use this class to (re)orient yourself. Students without a spinning wheel will have a chance to try our shop wheels; which will be shared among the student group. Workshop supplies are included in the fee - you will have plenty of fiber to play with in class and take home! All students receive a 10% student discount, which can be used on supplies and even big equipment if you are interested in purchasing a wheel.
Community Commitment
We're looking forward to sharing space with you! If you haven't had a chance to read our Community Commitment, pop over to the website and read about how we agree to share space. Feel free to reach out to the shop if you have any questions along the way - we're excited to welcome you wherever you may be on the learning curve.
Cancellation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. You may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration within one week of the workshop we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund; cancellations made less than one week in advance will not be refunded. We are unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshop session(s).
Student Discount
Students get a one-time 10% student discount that is active at the first workshop session and expires two weeks following the final workshop session. You will receive your discount code at the first first session.
