Love knitting but intimidated by the detail and contour of socks? Learn simple shaping techniques that can be applied to any sock pattern, tricks for reinforcing heavy-wear areas, and how to combine the best yarn, pattern and needles to make top-down socks for any season. In this workshop we’ll knit a Mini Sock that covers all of the techniques you’ll need for knitting full size socks, including:

• Working in the round on Double Pointed Needles.
• Elastic cast ons and cuffs.
• The Flap and gusset technique for Heel Turning.
• Tapering the toe.
• Reinforcing techniques for heel and sole.

During the workshop we will also discuss selecting the best yarn for durability, stretch, and pattern type; sizing and fitting; care and repair.

Skills + Materials
This is a beginner+/intermediate workshop; suitable for folks with basic knitting skills who are ready to start more advanced shaping and pattern work. Supplies to make your mini sock are included in your workshop fee and you will be able to bring home your 6" US2 DPNs and mini ball of sock yarn to keep.

Cancellation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. You may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration within one week of the workshop we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund; cancellations made less than one week in advance will not be refunded. We are unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshop session(s).

Student Discount
Students get a one-time 10% student discount that is active at the first workshop session and expires two weeks following the final workshop session. You will receive your discount code at the first first session.
