It has been such a joy working alongside Melanie Hasan to create the Modest Transitions x Wild Hand Naturally Dyed Needle & Hook Cases and Pouches. Liz and Melanie connected over oh-so-many things during this collaboration including motherhood, making dramatic career changes from the nonprofit sector to working with fiber, textiles, and design, as well as an underlying set of values centered around inclusivity, equity, and a care for the wellbeing of the people, animals, and land that make the supplies we work with.⁠

Melanie is a self-taught designer, textile artist and founder of Modest Transitions. After giving birth to her son, Melanie found a meditative connection with design and textiles. Dedicating her medium through natural dyeing and sustainability in order to lessen environmental impact. While striving to bridge the gap between modesty and fashion, she is inspired by inclusion and natural beauty to create one-of-a-kind garments to empower women and challenge beauty norms.⁠ Melanie's warmth, transparency, ambition, values, and creativity have brought so much to the community and we're super grateful for the opportunity to work together.
