Join the amazing Lavanya Patricella and make a hat while you learn the basics of two color thorn stitch. This fun 2 color stitch is made using a combination of slip stitches, increases, and decreases. You only ever work 1 color at a time and the pattern lends itself wonderfully to gradient yarn coupled with a contrasting solid. 

This one-night knit hat workshop includes one skein of Spincycle Yarns Dyed In The Wool yarn in our shop-exclusive colorway and one skein of KAOS Organic Merino in a contrasting color of your choice. You will need to stop-by Wild Hand in advance to pick-out/up your yarns because there is homework to complete before the workshop. We are over-the-moon to welcome Lavanya back to Wild Hand!!

Note: Workshop students will have early access to the restock of our (currently sold out) shop-exclusive colorway of Spincycle Yarns Dyed In The Wool during the workshop; you can purchase additional skeins before these go live on Local Yarn Store Day 4/27!

Skills & Materials
This is a beginner+/intermediate workshop and students will most enjoy the time if they have some basic knitting skills (cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and bind-off). The workshop fee includes the pattern that will be taught in class, a stitch marker, and all of the yarn needed to complete the project. There is a little bit of homework for this workshop, which will be detailed in your registration confirmation email. Students should plan to bring the following to the workshop:

US2 16" (2.75mm / 40cm) Circular Knitting Needles
US4 16" (3.50mm / 40cm) Circular Knitting Needles
US4 (3.50mm) DPNs (Double Pointed Needles)

Cancelation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. We've done our best to create a cancellation policy that honors how fickle life can be alongside our financial commitment to our staff and teaching artists. First, you may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund for cancellations made two weeks in advance of your workshop date. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than two weeks in advance. We are also unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshops.

Student Discount
Students get a one-time 10% student discount that is active at the first workshop session (you'll receive your code at the workshop) and expires two weeks following the final workshop session.
