Join us this fall for a beginner knitting class just for kids! We're excited to welcome our 8+ learners to the shop for this two-week workshop that will cover the very basics of knitting; casting-on, knit stitch, and binding-off. In the end the kids will have a beautiful bulky merino wool scarf to wear and needles to keep (to make their next one!). Kids will get to pick their yarn color from an entire rainbow of options. Knitting has been shown to help kids with focus, creativity, emotion regulation, math, fine motor skills, critical thinking, and their desire to learn. Teaching Artist and Wild Hand Manager, Yolanda Booker, has years of experience working with children as a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia, through Wild Hand, and community groups.

Skills + Materials
This is a beginner workshop for kids age 8+ and no previous experience is needed to participate. The workshop fee includes one big 150g ball of Loopy Mango's Merino No. 5 yarn and LYKKE hardwood knitting needles (valued at $50).

Cancelation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. We've done our best to create a cancellation policy that honors how fickle life can be alongside our financial commitment to our staff and teaching artists. First, you may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund for cancellations made two weeks in advance of your workshop date. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than two weeks in advance. We are also unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshops.

Student Discount
Students get a one-time 10% student discount that is active at the first workshop session and expires two weeks following the final workshop session. When you arrive at your workshop there will be a QR code to scan and provide feedback on your workshop experience. After the short feedback survey the discount code will appear.
