The Ashford Traveler 3 is the newest Traveller Spinning Wheel design! The new Traveller 3 design is reminiscent of the original Traveller first made back in 1977; with some great new improvements.
This beautiful wheel includes a stunning classic upright castle wheel; aesthetically designed centralized flyer location suitable for both left- and right-hand spinners; a four speed single drive flyer with stretchy polycord drive band eliminates any flyer vibration and makes changing ratios a breeze; ratios 5, 7, 9, 13; sliding hook flyer with three 90mm large capacity bobbins as standard; wooden handle threading hook with longer hook for easier threading; convenient storage for threading hook; scotch tension for simple, smooth accurate tension adjustment, and a built-in lazy kate (that will also accommodate Jumbo bobbins!).
The 405mm (18”) drive wheel is now heavier (than the Traveller) resulting in 20% more momentum which means even less effort required to treadle. The Traveller 3 has stainless steel ball bearings, polyurethane hinge and con rod joints, and double treadle for comfortable, balanced, and effortless treadling. Assembly is required but is quick and easy with great instruction. The Traveller 3 comes in a Lacquered or Natural finish and the wheel weighs 12lbs. The orifice height is 80.5cm (31.75").
The Ashford Traveler is easy to start with double treadles that are hinged to allow a comfortable heel-toe action. Ball bearings make treadling oh-so-smooth and effortless. Included with your Ashford Traveler are four bobbins (that are quick and easy to change!) as well as a built-in lazy kate, threading hook, and double treadles.
