90 Varas is a unique collection crafted from transhumant Merino wool that pays homage to Spanish pastoral tradition. Its distinctive colors, with natural nuances and shimmers, lend a special beauty to each skein, reflecting the richness of the landscapes when the sheep graze. With each project you support the conservation of transhumance, a sustainable and cultural practice that deserves to be preserved for future generations.
Transhumance, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, connects seasons, landscapes and history through the royal drove roads, ancient paths that still preserve the essence of this sustainable grazing system. Hence the name of this collection, 90 Varas, the traditional measure of the width of these ravines, equivalent to 75 meters. These routes, with a length of more than 125,000 kilometers, cover 1% of Spanish territory and are a living testament to the balance between nature and human activity.
Wooldreamers is the company and dream of Ramón who has a passion for natural fibers and a belief that there is no better way to fight against micro-plastic pollution and climate change than the use of 100% biodegradable materials. Wooldreamers prioritizes sourcing natural fibers cultivated with compassion for the animals and land, building relationships with ranchers and sharing our vision for the future of heritage wools in Spain. They are able to keep our production chain short as all of Wooldreamers’ yarns are produced with traceable wools in our their own Okeo-tex certified mill.
