Mondim is a sock weight yarn made from 100% non-superwash fine Portuguese wool and is named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry. With many beautiful solids and speckles, Mondim is absolutely lovely and softens up with washing. 

Retrosaria Rosa Pomar makes minimally processed heritage wool yarns from Portugal. Their yarns are created in collaboration with small manufacturers, breeders associations, and shepherds. All Rosa Pomar yarns are non-superwash, not bleached, have no silicone-based softeners, and mulesing is not practiced in Portugal.
