::virtual:: Tunisian Crochet Basics
This product is currently sold out.
Join us for this one-session introduction to Tunisian crochet! Sometimes thought of as a hybrid of knitting and crochet. Unlike standard crochet (where each stitch is worked and finished as you go) when you are working in Tunisian crochet the stitches are picked up in one direction and then finished in the opposite direction. Tunisian crochet also uses a different hook than standard crochet (that we will be including with your materials!). During this workshop you will learn the basics and get started on a shawl project. During this workshop you will learn oh-so-much, including:
+ How to read a pattern.
+ About Tunisian crochet hooks.
+ How to start your project.
+ Forward and return passes.
+ Wool care.
This class is intended for absolute beginners - no previous experience required! We will be using Kelbourne Woolens (based literally over the creek and through the woods from Wild Hand, here in Philadelphia's Manayunk neighborhood!) Perennial yarn - a super soft blend of merino and alpaca. You will be able to select your yarn color.
Workshops meet virtually via Zoom - links and passcodes will arrive with your workshop order confirmation (you will receive a confirmation email for your full order and then separately an email with just workshop details).
Workshop registration includes all of the thoughtfully sourced materials that you need to participate and will be available for contactless pick-up or delivery before the workshop start date. We happily ship worldwide and shipping costs are not included in the workshop fee. We will be in touch 2-3 weeks before your workshop begins about arranging to receive your workshop supply bundle.
Cancellation Policy :: We know and understand that schedules change! Wild Hand will happily offer a store credit refund for cancellations made a week or more in advance. For cancellations made less than a week in advance we can offer a 50% store credit refund. We do this so that we can still pay the teaching artist for your spot in the class.
