This is a beginner workshop covering the basics of rag rug making. You'll learn about these simple, practical, fun rugs and a few of the many ways to make them! Usually made with materials you have around the house - old sheets, clothes, or fabric - rag rugs are a beautiful way to bring new life to your textiles and preserve the memories our textiles carry with them.

During this workshop
 you will learn oh-so-much, including:

+ Selecting pre-used materials.
+ Techniques for making fabric yarn.
+ Tools for rag rug making.
+ Five styles of rag rugs.
+ Finishing and care.

This is an absolute beginner class with no previous skills required. All Wild Hand workshop students get a one-time 15% discount for use during and up to two weeks following the last class session.

Workshops meet virtually via Zoom - links and passcodes will arrive with your workshop order confirmation (you will receive a confirmation email for your full order and then separately an email with just workshop details).

Workshop registration includes the thoughtfully sourced materials that you need to participate. You will need to supply fabric scissors and textiles - can be old sheets, clothes, or fabric - using what you have around the house is the best and any material/fiber is a-ok.
Wild Hand will supply the rest and materials will be available for contactless pick-up or delivery before the workshop start date. We happily ship worldwide and shipping costs are not included in the workshop fee. We will be in touch 2-3 weeks before your workshop begins about arranging to receive your workshop supply bundle.

Cancellation Policy :: We know and understand that schedules change! Wild Hand will happily offer a store credit refund for cancellations made a week or more in advance. For cancellations made less than a week in advance we can offer a 50% store credit refund. We do this so that we can still pay the teaching artist for your spot in the class.
