Stranded Colorwork Knitting (virtual)
This is a virtual workshop that meets over Zoom. Learn how to liven up your hat game with this Beginner Stranded Colorwork Knit Hat! Jamie Lomax's fun and colorful All Together Now hat pays homage to the famous Beatles song, All Together Now celebrated the music hall tradition of asking the audience to join in. By using a handful of differently colored yarns, this pattern encourages knitters to recognize the wider fiber community including all of the amazing indie dyers. In this workshop, knitters will learn how to incorporate several colors to make up a wildly unique and one of a kind beanie hat in the size of their choice (the pattern includes sizes from toddler to adult). Students will also learn how to do a twisted rib that sets this hat even further apart! Students should have basic knit and purl skills, including decreases.
This is an intermediate (or beyond beginner) workshop and students should know how to cast-on, knit, purl, and work in the round. The workshop fee does not include materials. For this workshop, depending on the size hat you'd like to make and yarn weight you'd like to use, you will need 170-325 yards of DK, Worsted, or Fingering weight yarn in one color as well as a bunch of smaller bits/scraps of 4-8 other colors. You will also need a 16" circular knitting needles in the size appropriate for the yarn weight that you decide to work with. The pattern offers lots of flexibility and you will receive a pattern download link with your confirmation email so that you can start planning the supplies. If you'd like to buy your materials through Wild Hand we will gladly ship them. If you're local you can stop by the shop or select Local Pick-up at check-out.
