About this experience

Needle felting is an easy to learn technique of sculpting wool fibers using barbed needles. Sonia will teach you all the basics and guide you through her unique techniques of wrapping wool roving around wire to sculpt an expressive and relatable doll or animal. Each session will include a little movement and guided meditation to transition from the outside world to your inner creative world. You may create an animal that reflects your connection to an animal spirit, a doll that is an expression of your whole self or simply a lovely animal/doll for someone special. Poking the needle into the wool is meditative and a great release of tension. No need to "be an artist" to create something you feel wonderful about- playing with the wool is very forgiving and empowers everyone at whatever level to reconnect with your inner artist/ creative side.

Working with this natural material is fun and cathartic, and a great way to bond with your family and friends. Intergenerational pairs such as parent-child, grandparent-grandchild are especially encouraged.
