Learn how to color your world with Nature's crayon box! In this full-day outdoor (behind the shop!) workshop you will learn the basics needed to create your own dye pots with natural materials and have a successful dye experience. Students will work with several different dye pots and learn about how the qualities and possibilities of different plant materials to create color on yarn. Come ready to play!
This is an outdoor workshop with a RAIN DATE. If the weather is not good on the workshop date the workshop will meet the following day 6/11/23 from 10AM-4PM instead.
Skills + Materials
This is a beginner workshop and there is no previous experience needed to participate. The workshop fee includes all the supplies you need to participate. Students will receive yarn to dye and take home, with opportunity to purchase additional yarn-to-dye.
Cancellation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. We've done our best to create a cancellation policy that honors how fickle life can be alongside our financial commitment to our staff and teaching artists. If you need to cancel your registration we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund for cancellations made two weeks in advance of your workshop date. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations made less than two weeks in advance. We are also unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshops.

Theresa is a RN, Army veteran, and fiber artist from Newark, DE. She has been knitting since childhood and spinning since 2014. Theresa is also a local fiber dye artist and teaches knitting, spinning, crochet, fiber prep, and dyeing at local fiber festivals, retreats, and Wild Hand. Theresa is a regular contributor to PLY magazine's advisory board. She is the owner of Ewe-Nited States of Fiber (check out her work here at Wild Hand!) and a wife and mom to three sons.
