Loft Mohair + Silk
Loft from our Baltimore-based friends at Neighborhood Fiber Co. is the softest kid mohair, covering a silk core to create a wispy and light laceweight yarn. Though it is laceweight, this yarn knits comfortably on larger needles or acts as the perfect accent when held with a heavier yarn.
We love that these hanks are 28 grams / 350 yards - smaller than the usual and making it easier to get just the right amount for your project.
Subtle color variations are achieved through Neighborhood Fiber Co.'s thoughtful kettle-dyeing process. Each skein is individually dyed, so while these images are representative of the color, your skein will not look exactly like the pictures. Each and every skein is truly unique!
Neighborhood Fiber Co. began in the kitchen of a basement apartment in the LeDroit Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. Stirred by her surroundings, Karida Collins set out to provide the world with hand-dyed yarns inspired by and named to reflect the natural beauty and diverse neighborhoods throughout the nation’s capital. Since then, she has added many more colors to reflect a multitude of neighborhoods, both inside and outside of DC. Now based in Baltimore, MD, Neighborhood Fiber Co. continues to offer vibrant, one-of-a-kind colors inspired by urban landscapes.
