This beautiful 100% cotton green bandana was designed just for Wild Hand by local (in the neighborhood!) artist Richie Wilde Lopez with a nod to the thread that connects us and the power of craft to bring about change. 5% of profits from these bandana sales will go directly to the National Network of Abortion Funds.
The green bandana has become a universal symbol of the struggle for legal abortion. Started in Argentina in 2003 for The National Gathering of Women and inspired by the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, the color green was chosen as a unifying color signifying nature and growth while reclaiming the word life. The color and its meaning spread across Latin America and eventually across the globe over the past twenty years. The work done by the original tireless organizers created a wave of progress and awareness. It’s with their support and encouragement that the green has become a symbol of reproductive freedom.
