Are you ready to move beyond scarves with your knitting? Or need a refresher on the basics? Join us for a mitten class and learn how to follow a knitting pattern, increase, decrease, and use double pointed needles (DPNs). In this two-day workshop you will complete one mitten and have all the tools, supplies, and skills you need to go home and finish the pair.
We will be working with Kelbourne Woolens (located here in Mt. Airy!) Germantown yarn in a color of your choice and our go-to Building Blocks Mitten pattern. What we love about this pattern is that it's three patterns in one - once you learn how to follow the basic pattern and make your first pair you will want to make more, and will have the patterns to do it!
Skills + Materials
This is a beginner+/intermediate workshop - students should have basic knitting skills (cast-on, knit stitch, and purl stitch). Your workshop fee includes all of supplies you will need to participate; one skein of Kelbourne Woolens Germantown yarn in the color of your choice, LYKKE hardwood 6" Double Pointed Needles in two sizes, a Tapestry Needle, and a Stitch Marker.
Community Commitment
We're looking forward to sharing space with you! If you haven't had a chance to read our Community Commitment, pop over to the website and read about how we agree to share space. Feel free to reach out to the shop if you have any questions along the way - we're excited to welcome you wherever you may be on the learning curve.
Cancelation + Make-up Policy
We absolutely understand that things come up and you may need to cancel your registration. We've done our best to create a cancelation policy that honors how fickle life can be alongside our financial commitment to our staff and teaching artists. First, you may always transfer your registration to another student (just let us know in advance!). If you need to cancel your registration we are happy to offer a 50% store credit refund for cancelations made two weeks in advance of your workshop date. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for cancelations made less than two weeks in advance. We are also unable to offer make-ups or exchanges for missed workshops.
