In this intermediate tapestry weaving workshop weavers will expand on their basic knowledge of weaving by learning two new weaving techniques. Overshot is a beautiful technique using supplementary wefts that allows you to create stunning and creative designs, often described as the cake decorating of weaving! We will cover it all from creating, or reading the pattern draft, getting started on the loom, methods of weaving for success with overshot, as well as finishing techniques. We will als be covering another supplementary weft technique called Pibinone. This technique uses supplementary wefts to create a raised design above the base weft, adding texture and depth to your tapestry! With these supplementary weft skills under your belt, your weaving creativity options are limitless! This is a beyond beginner workshop - basic frame weaving skills are needed for an enjoyable workshop experience - warping your frame loom, plain weave, and removing your piece form the loom. Fee includes yarn as well as a weaving needle and wooden weaving comb from Funem Studio. Students need to bring their own frame loom. If you don't have one we sell a great option for this class - the Funem Studio frame loom, which comes with a rotating heddle bar.
