Explore the creation of tapestry weaving from start to finish with Melonie from Fibre Studio. In this sweet one-session workshop (one of our most popular workshops!) students will have a student-size loom (shown in the photo) from the fine folk at Funem and plenty of yarn and fiber to play with as they learn the techniques and tricks to hitting a creative flow with weaving on a frame loom. In this workshop you will learn oh-so-much including:

+ Selecting materials.
+ Understanding your weaving tools.
+ Selecting a color palette.
+ Basic design planning.
+ How to create patterns.
+ Basic weaving and stitching techniques.
+ How to take your piece off the loom.

This is a beginner workshop - no previous experience or equipment required. Workshop registration includes all of the thoughtfully sourced materials that you need to participate and will be available for contactless pick-up or delivery before the workshop start date. We happily ship worldwide and shipping costs are not included in the workshop fee. We will be in touch 2-3 weeks before your workshop begins about arranging to receive your workshop supply bundle. All Wild Hand workshop students also get a one-time 15% discount for use during and up to two weeks following the last class session.

Workshops meet virtually via Zoom - links and passcodes will arrive with your workshop order confirmation (you will receive a confirmation email for your full order and then separately an email with just workshop details).

Cancellation Policy :: We know and understand that schedules change! Wild Hand will happily offer a store credit refund for cancellations made a week or more in advance. For cancellations made less than a week in advance we can offer a 50% store credit refund. We do this so that we can still pay the teaching artist for your spot in the class.
