About this experience
Join us for a Tiny Pricks Stitching Circle with Jessie Jackson of Why Knot Main Line, who will be on hand to support stitchers with hand lettering and embroidery basics. No experience necessary. You’re also welcome to come and work on a TPP already in progress - the more the merrier.
Textile Artist Diana Weymar began Tiny Pricks Project, a series of hand-embroidered Trump quotes and tweets, in 2018. She describes it as “the material record of Trump’s presidency”. From the project website: “This series holds a creative space in a tumultuous political climate. Tiny Pricks Project counterbalances the impermanence of Twitter and other social media, and Trump’s statements by using textiles that embody warmth, craft, permanence, civility, and a shared history. The daintiness and strength of each piece stands in a stark contrast to his presidency.” The project was featured in The New Yorker in July 2019. Let's help Diana Weymar reach her goal of 2020 Tiny Pricks Projects by 2020!
