Learn how to weave this handsome and super functional market basket. It is perfectly suited for taking to the local farmers market, gathering flowers and produce form the garden, for storage, for display in your home or as a gift to a friend. In this workshop you will learn how to square the bottom of your basket; weave an over/under pattern; keep your sides straight and your corners square, incorporate a handle and lash on a rim. You will not be staining the basket in class, but Sara will explain to you how it is done. You will receive a pattern and multiple handouts regarding basketry. This is a beginner workshop and no experience is necessary, however moderate hand strength is needed to comfortably enjoy the workshop. The fee includes all of the materials you need for the workshop - the basket you will create in the workshop is approximately 9.5” square at the base, 6.5” in depth and 11.5” from the bottom to the top of the handle.
