In this class students will learn the basic stitches - knit and purl - as well as how to read a knitting pattern, how to finish and sew knitted fabric, and create a cute and useful pair of hand warmers! This class is perfect for absolute beginners, or those who would like to improve upon their DIY knitting skills. Over the three-week class you will learn oh-so-much, including:

+ Cast-on & Bind-off
+ Pattern Reading
+ Finishing, Washing, and Wool Care
This is a beginner level class - no skills required and all ages above 8 are welcome. Price includes thoughtfully sourced materials (no additional materials fees). Students also get 15% off in the shop on workshop days!
All classes meet at our shop at 606 Carpenter Lane, Philadelphia PA 19119 - in the heart of Mt. Airy Village. There is plenty of free on-street parking as well as High Point Cafe and Weaver's Way Co-op steps away for your food and beverage needs. Smaller kiddos and dogs are also always welcome to hang in the shop!
COURTNEY KELLEY from Kelbourne Woolens. Courtney is the co-owner of Kelbourne Woolens. She graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2001 with a focus in Fiber and Material Studies, where her thesis piece was a six-foot hand-knitted traditional gansey. Her particular love is reading books about the history of knitting and re-creating vintage patterns from photographs and archives - a passion she rarely gets to fulfill in her day to day design work. She lives in Philadelphia.
CANCELLATION POLICY // Wild Hand is happy to offer a full store credit refund or space in another class for cancellations made at least 3 days in advance of the first class session. If you class is canceled by Wild Hand we will provide a full refund by the method in which you paid.
