Beginner Knitting (virtual)
This is a virtual workshop that meets over Zoom. Learn the basics of knitting from the Wild Hand team! This is a monthly learn-to-knit workshop where your teaching artist will go over casting-on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and binding-off. You're welcome to join us once or make it a monthly thing. This is a great way to (re)learn how to knit in a welcoming virtual space. All ages (generally we find that kiddos age 6+ do best learning to knit on needles) are welcome to join us and start their knitting journey.
This is a beginner workshop and there is no previous experience needed to participate. The workshop fee does not include materials. For this workshop you will need yarn and knitting needles. We offer FREE yarn and needles (while we have supplies) through our Little Free Fiber Library. We recommend a worsted, chunky, or bulky weight yarn (also known as a size 4-6 in some brands) and a US7-19 set of straight knitting needles. If you'd like to buy your materials through Wild Hand we will gladly ship them. If you're local you can stop by the shop or select Local Pick-up at check-out. Below is a list of workshop supply ideas from our shop.
Lykke 10" Straight Knitting Needles
Germantown or Germantown Unicorns
Ranger Merino Bulky
Merino No. 5 (use w/ US19 Needles)
